At the invitation of the Schlumberger Foundation, H. Delehaye gave these three papers at the Collège de France in 1935. Although addressed to a wider public, these papers contain the experience acquired by the author in his 45 years as a Bollandist, and constitute, as it were, his intellectual testament.
