Description
Critical edition with annotations of the Life of a Calabrian monk of the Xth century, St. Fantin the Younger (BHG 2366z, olim 1509b), on the basis of the only known witness: Mosquensis gr. 478, f. 272-285v (end of the Xth century). This document presents a remarkable picture of the city of Thessalonica in the second half of the Xth century. It abounds with colourful episodes in which various historical personages, such as St. Photius of Thessaly, St. Athanasius and St. Paul of Athos, are encountered.
