Description
The second part of the diptych initiated by Les saints rois du Moyen Âge (Subsidia Hagiographica, 68). Twelve queens, from St Clotilde (d. 545) to St Isabella of Aragon (d. 1336), form the subject of a critical historical study. A concluding synthesis examines the characteristic aspects of this quite particular type of sanctity.
